Dr Gates is easy to talk to. She listens and explains treatment options well. I feel like part of the care team for myself which I appreciate!

Dr. Gates and I have been on my journey of lessening my hypertension and cholesterol levels for awhile now. It has taken some time to develop a flow in our communication as our styles differ but the occasional convo separate from medical stuff brings a friendly vibe to our association. She is a well qualified practitioner and the staff at the office are always nice, relaxed and welcoming.

Under her care my diabetes is under tight control, I have lost 120lbs, and accidents aside will live longer than I would have giving me more time with my children and granddaughter. I love Dr Gates and her nurse Kelly is just the best! She’s so sweet and kind and very good with shots-never feel them! However I would like to take this opportunity to say something about OLIC. I used to go there to use the pool and the gym, but since the retired athletic director took took over as director of OLIC the facilities have become so filthy, I can’t stand to be there any longer. The pool water looks like it hasn’t been filtered in a month Lots of little floating particles visible in the water. The whirlpool has a wide black ring around it near the water level, And in the Jim area, the dust and hair that is accumulated in the corners of the gym and under the equipment are disgusting. I’ve been in there multiple times when there were no towels or sanitizer for patrons to clean the equipment with. In one of the showers, there was a long black curly hair on the shower wall for months and the shower smell like urine so I know they aren’t getting cleaned. It’s Said because under the right management, With people who care about cleanliness and the safety of patrons, that place has the potential to become a great aquatic center. Beyond the Cleanliness, or lack of, the whole facility could use quite a few upgrades. Unfortunately, for Marshall residence to have a clean and safe aquatics experience we must drive to Charlotte because we aren’t going to get it at OLIC. Do better Oaklawn,much better!
