Dr. Gates is so wonderful. Very knowledgeable and spends the amount of time needed to make sure any of my conditions or concerns are addressed.

Excellent doctor, best primary care I ever had.

Sure wish lab work was completed before wellness visit so that I could talk to physician about abnormal results in person and not through phone conversations with support staff who then have to check with the doctor and call me back and relay doctor's notes to me. If Medicare rules dictate when lab work must be done I am disappointed that the medical community has not worked to make it like it used to be where labs were drawn before a physical.

Helpful but need. To have some more things checked out! But I have to wait for availability of other appointments and tests .

The nurse, sorry I can't remember her name, was just as great as Dr Gates!!! So friendly and good at her job.

I was a new patient to Dr. Gates since my previous provider left. Dr. Gates is AMAZING! She was so knowledgeable, took ample time to discuss options with me and the why behind the options. I feel very comfortable in her care and appreciate her kindness for my concerns.

This was a first time visit to establish primary care relationship. I understand why Dr. Gates did not yet have my medical records. She made me feel very comfortable and I am confident that she will provide quality care as we work together to maintain and improve my health. I loved that she uses an ai tool to record sessions so her attention was on me and not a computer during our appointment.

My only complaint is that my virtual appt was at 11:00 and I didn't get connected with until 11:35. Being at work, this was very frustrating because I set aside time for this and then had to wait for a long time.

Dr. Gates is amazing!

I really like Dr. Gates. She's down to earth. She's always very helpful and easy to work with.

Everything was blamed on insurance. Everything I mentioned became my insurances fault and I needed to contact them because they are criminals and scammers. I raised questions on my hormones and think they might be not where they need to be, and was told that if I can reproduce my hormones are probably fine. I mentioned fatigue and brain fog and was told that I probably have sleep apnea just because I snore. I mentioned that I had PCOS and it felt like it was completely disregarded. I told her I felt like I had no options for weight loss and was looking for some guidance, and it went back to, it's your insurances fault. I mentioned a surgery I was looking to get and that I had already contacted my Insurance, so I know the requirements, which I meet all of them, and she kept telling me I was wrong, and based on other patients Insurances, I needed to loose 100lbs or I can't get it. I felt like nothing got answered, or resolved. I had mentioned that my last provider just felt like she stopped caring about my concerns, and Gates just felt like she didn't care from the jump. As soon as she walked out of the room, my husband looked at me and said, "absolutely not, she didn't even listen to you, or let you explain." And he's not wrong. Every time I tried to explain, I got cut off. I got extremely emotional because I'm so frustrated with my situation, and not being able to find a provider that will hear me or help me. And while I'm sure as a provider it's frustrating when a patient gets upset, it felt like there was no compassion, and she was overly annoyed. Will not be returning to see her.

Long wait time for our first apt. We love Dr. Gates and she is great with our son, so I am hoping this was just a busy/fluke day. However we did wait about an hour total before being seen. Not upset, just wanting to provide feedback!

I called and spoke to someone about scheduling this appointment to have my doctor sign a form for work. It turned out that I didn't need to actually come in to the office. I just wish the people who provide information when a patient is trying to schedule an appointment would verify if what's requested needs to be face-to-face.

I was upset to learn that telahealth appointment will no longer be offer in the Oaklawn office. Personally it was a great option for a busy active person who has little need for my primary dr other than checking in with me that a medication check in. For my controlled substance prescription, I understand it deemed as "necessary." I will be reconsidering returning to the office due to this policy. I live more than 30 mins away, taking an hour round trip places a burden on my work schedule where I could easily find time to fit In a telahealth appointment during my work day (ie break or lunch) The additional time to make the drive will be a consideration it continuing my patience relationship with Oaklawn. I may choose that my time is worth more than the insurance need to control the providers. And I may choose to not continue on my prescribed medication, or I may seek a closer office to my residence to continue my mental health care. It's so sad that insurance policy and greedy dictates over doctors recommendations.

The amount of time allotted to each patient should be increased if the patient has multiple health issues. It shouldn't be one size fits all. I blame this on Oaklawn administrators, not my doctor!

My MA was very nice and matched my vibe which I liked. My provider mentioned how my affect was different from before and that was nice since she obviously she remembered past visits or at least made notes, my provider was very nice. I loved my MA and provider and would like to see them again when I come next time and would be comfortable with them which is odd for me since I have medical anxiety issues.

Dr. Gates is the only doctor who I trust to give me straight answers she listens and spends as much time as needed to answer all my questions without me feeling rushed or a bother. I have been seeing her for a long time and have gotten my new husband to switch to Dr Gates for his primary care physician. I tell her often that I appreciate her and everything she does! I have NEVER told another physician that before and I'm [redacted] years old. That should speak volumes!!!

Melissa is an exceptional provider. I have made many appointments with her where she has listened to my case and what is going on, given me educated feedback and always follows up with why she thinks "this" route is the best way to treat. She has spent many years researching and provides information she has gathered over her career as another way to show you she in all in to help your quality of life. This was a new patient visit. I was very comfortable with MELISSA Gates. She was an excellent listener, provided great information and I believe will create a great team in my care.

The reason for my visit was, I called and need a prescription refilled and was told that doctor would not refill until I had my yearly check up. After waiting 50 minutes the doctor came in for maybe 5, approved my refill. That was my yearly physical.

I had several problems I had explained to the provider. She listened to them. At the end of the session she left without addressing any solution or course of action. I had to ask an assistant to bring her her back into the examination room to provide what could be done. A course of action was discussed. I was told follow-up would be provided. Maybe the blood test would provide a course of action. But I don't know. I'm just guessing as this was not brought up.
