Dr. Petra Toutanji is absolutely the most wonderful physician I have ever had and I have recommended her to others who now see her as their primary care physician. That says a lot b/c I have never recommended something like that to anyone in my life. I absolutely trust her with my life. I used to avoid the doctors office out of fear and feeling uncomfortable. I do not feel that way with Dr. Toutanji, I call on her whenever I have any type of question or concern about my health and trust every word she says. I truly believe that she cares about me as a person and a patient and only wants the absolute best for me and my health and I love her for that. I tell her a concern I nay have and she is immediately on it, doing blood work or setting up an appointment with a specialist. I trust her so much, that I have even sent my wife to her b/c I know that she will 100% care for her and her well-being. I cant thank Dr. Toutanji enough and she will be my doctor until the day she retires. THANK YOU DR. TOUTANJI YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO COMFORTABLE AND CARED FOR AND LISTENED TO, YOU ARE THE BEST DOCTOR EVER!!!

Dr. Toutanji doesn't seem to want to get to know me as a patient. She seemed skeptical of my experience at the hospital and didn't ask questions about all the "fails" I've had w/BP meds.

There appears to be a disconnect between clinic & previous medical records. I turned in my med records on a thumb drive. However, problem attempting to get a PA, a separate office completes the PA request. However, that office doesn't appear to have my previous medical records to complete a PA for medicines I've taken for 15 years, so I keep getting denied. I am not sure how a PA can be accurately completed by a totally separate office who doesn't know my medical history. I just learned of this separation of offices 2 weeks ago and I have been trying to get a PA approved for a year. I have been on for 15 years - and this had been going on for a year. The separate office handling PA requests never contacted me for information to accurately complete the PA and that PA office does not have my medical history. No wonder it keeps getting denied.

Was disappointed the front staff wanted to schedule another appointment to discuss my lab reports instead of a _____ phone call. Was also disappointed there was no Saturday hours for bloodwork less than 45 minutes from me. Is disappointing every time I called the staff line I have to leave a message and wait a few days for a call back.

Dr. Toutanji is awesome. If you could clone her and make about a dozen more providers like her southwest Michigan would be a better place. She is personable, knowledgeable, and spends time listening and taking to you about why you are there. I feel very fortunate to have her as my primary care physician. Give this woman a raise or more vacation time or something. I wish more doctors were like her, she is a credit to her profession.

Took far too much information and time for a new patient consultation. Provider was very critical/judgemental of sexual health, assumed things about my sex life. Provider was on phone during appointment time. Did not feel listened to after asking questions and did not get a respectful response from any person I asked. Overall extremely disappointed and dissatisfied.

Felt Dr really didn't have the time nor interest to care about my current and ongoing health concerns as my lab work, other than vit D level were within normal limits. She hurried thru the appointment and abruptly left when she finished. I have seen this Dr twice In the last 12 months and this will be my last visit with her. I will be calling soon to change to another Dr as I deserve a Dr who won't view my medical appointment as an interruption to her day that needs to be rushed through as quickly as possible.

I find that my doctor during my annual physical is always listening. And understanding of what my needs are. She listened to me and a concern I had about weight gain. - 4 out of 5 starsReviewed on 11/14/2025
It was my first time seeing Dr. Toutanji and my first annual check up in several years. I appreciated that she did not force any vaccinations or flu shots on me like some doctors in the past. She was personable and asked questions about my daily lifestyle to evaluate my health above and beyond just reading the bloodwork lab results. I would recommend Dr. Toutanji and I hope to have her as my on-going personal physician. I also appreciated [name] and the young man who made sure the appointment was on time.

She never listened to anything. Brushed me off. Left me with crying. She gave me medicine that made me sick for 3 days, and told me it's all in my head.
- 2 out of 5 starsReviewed on 7/21/2025
Doctor never took my consideration in mind. She made nasty comments about my weight and prescribed me medication that made me sick.
- 4 out of 5 starsReviewed on 7/20/2025
My previous doctor I had for many many years retired and I was given this doctor. So I am just adjusting to her ways. At first I was dissatisfied because she has a definite way of doing things that are different than my previous doctor. But I'm trying to make it work and see if we can come to an agreement on my treatment because I felt fantastic with my previous doctor and the way he handled things seem to be much more efficient for me. But my new doctor is beginning to come around and we are beginning to communicate better.
- 5 out of 5 starsReviewed on 7/20/2025
Extremely comfortable and my provider was very helpful.
- 2 out of 5 starsReviewed on 7/18/2025
I've always really liked her. But everytime I see her she seems more and more dismissive. And it felt like a fake smile. I was not comfortable. And I plan on going to a different doctor's office.

Dr Toutanji is a great provider, I love her straight to the point attitude. It makes me feel comfortable knowing she's not coddling me.

After having so much testing done for this disease I now have. I'm still finding myself having a difficult time knowing just when exactly I should take myself to the hospital. I'm also struggling to fully understand this disease. However I am thankful I choose to change my doctor! The lack of compassion and care with my old doctor seemed to be no more shortly after my diagnosis. To the point I felt completely uncomfortable ever going back again.
- 2 out of 5 starsReviewed on 7/1/2025
I intend to choose a different provider. This Dr never followed through with the orders she asked of me. Blood draw papers were not there. She has no respect of my time. I had to reschedule. Yet I got calls to make an appointment to follow up on my blood draw that didn't happen.

Recently received a cancer diagnosis. When I came in prior to diagnosis with concerns that something was off, Dr Toutanji was right on it and an ultrasound was scheduled within days. Dr Toutanji is a caring and compassionate doctor who does not rush thru an appointment and answers questions and explains things thoroughly.
- 5 out of 5 starsReviewed on 6/17/2025
Look forward to seeing my doctor again and advice as needed.
- 4 out of 5 starsReviewed on 5/29/2025
Never called back to let me know about lab test or tell me why labs could not be completed. After being seen in another emergency room this group did reach out to see how I was doing and wanted to know if I wanted to make an appointment. I didnt feel this provider had much knowledge of my medical history or why I was there. Didnt take time to look over my paperwork from the emergency room visit.
- 1 out of 5 starsReviewed on 5/22/2025
My experience with this provider was very poor. I love Oaklawn and have been coming to this office for YEARS. I have never experienced a Physician so rude and condescending. She talked over me the whole appointment and never let me explain my concerns about past issues. She was questioning what medication I had been given and why like it was my decision to prescribe what was prescribed. She didn't even give me the chance to explain what the other Physicians I saw told me. It was clear she hadn't even bothered to look at my medical history before coming into the room because she didn't even know what medication I had been on. I would never recommend this provider to anyone.

- 2 out of 5 starsReviewed on 4/24/2025
Felt worse and more frustrated about my situation after leaving this visit that I waited weeks to get into. Didn't feel heard, or like my health was of any importance really. Could've been a bad day but I felt as though I spent more time being corrected on my explanation of issues going on than I did being heard about my health issues. In all fairness, this doctor has been great in previous visits. Just a bad experience this once. Additionally , I ended up going to the emergency room afterwards. When called by the office as a follow up, I asked a question and was told they would get back, and never did.

This is the best doctor and my very best experience with the nurses I ever had. Great place, best people. Thank you.

She never listened to anything. Brushed me off. Left me with crying. She gave me medicine that made me sick for 3 days, and told me it's all in my head.

Doctor never took my consideration in mind. She made nasty comments about my weight and prescribed me medication that made me sick.

I've always really liked her. But everytime I see her she seems more and more dismissive. And it felt like a fake smile. I was not comfortable. And I plan on going to a different doctor's office.

My daughter was with me which helped me a lot, gave me more confidence. Dr. Toutanji is thorough; I think she cares about her patients - even old ones!

This visit to first time provider due to (3) previous doctors no longer at practice. Was told I needed a doctor visit to renew one of my long term maintenance drugs.

I intend to choose a different provider. This Dr never followed through with the orders she asked of me. Blood draw papers were not there. She has no respect of my time. I had to reschedule. Yet I got calls to make an appointment to follow up on my blood draw that didn't happen.

I expect any test results to be posted to the patient portal ASAP without requiring the next doctor visit to request results.

Dr.T seems to always have a way to explain things so this old man can understand it
