Wait time seemed longer than needed.

The staff was amazing from the receptionist, to the initial nurse, to my treatment, nurse, to the nurse anesthetist, and the nurse that took care of me afterwards. Dr. Shah was absolutely amazing. Fantastic bedside manner, and spoke to me like a human. As in all of the staff. Highly satisfied, I'm glad I chose Oak lawn

This was for a diagnostic outpatient procedure. From preop to postop everything was excellent.

Dr. Shah was great but arriving at 9:45? And not going back for the procedure until 11:40 increase my anxiety a lot.

I had a colonoscopy and throat dilation, with Dr Shau. He is an outstanding Dr, very informative and understanding. My only concern was, one of the nurses on the floor worn a very strong fragrance, which triggered my COPD, causing a lot of coughing. Everyone was still compassionate and professional.

We have never been at your hospital before and when we arrived this morning there were no people working there in the lobby that could explain to us how to proceed with registration. There was a security guard however he did not look at us when we entered the building. We did manage to find the self-check in and completed our check-in and everything worked very well. But if there would have been an employee visible when we walked in that we could have asked about checking in it would have been helpful. Overall our experience with oak lawn hospital on our first visit was very positive and we will use your facility again. Thank you

I have been with Dr. Shaw for years and I feel safe and comfortable with him. I'm always treated very well by Him and His Staff members.

II have seen Dr. Shah for all my colonosopies and EGDs for 40 years. I wouldn't deam of seeing another gastroenterologist because he is so meticulously thorough, experienced, knowledgeable, kind and caring. I have NEVER had a bad experience with him!

Unexpected after effect (stuffy - runny - sneezing nose) lasting a couple days. Result of sedation w/supplemental nasal oxygen. "Called" after hours (3 a.m.). Quick response. Had explanation/clarification by close of next business day. Impressed!!!

Went to hospital for colonosposy. Told them I hard to poke for iv. They didn't listen. I was poked at least 8 times. The iv machine was there. Instead of using it they kept poking.

Was told I couldn't have any coffee after the procedure upset me

Every part of my visit for a colonoscopy was seem less. Every person involved provided great care and were very informative for each step of the process. They were very very understanding and accommodating for my poor condition caused by my history of nervous system damage.

Wait time was very long, about 2 hours. Explained as a computer issue.

Dr. Shah and the team made my first colonoscopy a wonderful experience, as much as it can be! The entire team was supportive, in good spirits, and knowledgeable about their roles during my procedure.

The office staff is very slow to respond. I like Dr. Shah. I wish his staff were more supportive of patients' questions and needs.

Dr. Shaw has been my GI doctor for about 5 years. This was the first time for colonoscopy. I had had severe issues in January of this year is why the test. I had questions. I feel Dr. Shaw avoided talking to me about my concerns. After procedures he came by and basically said no real problems but I need to take Prilosec for acid reduction. I tried explaining to him that he didn't need to send prescription because I had already tried it and it only made symptoms worse. Apparently he wasn't listening to me (which I already expected) because he sent the script to my pharmacy anyway. I have gastroparesis and need. GI doctor that will listen to and work with me. I am very disappointed and have decided I will no longer see Dr. Shaw for my condition. I'll work with Cecilia Stahlhood as she is an excellent listener and includes me with my problems.

Dr Shah and his staff are very easy to work with, show me respect and dignity. Highly recommend them.

I was overwhelmed when one nurse was asking me questions while another was starting an IV. I appreciated when one nurse could not start an IV after one poke, he asked a colleague.

They were the best team ever! Made me feel very comfortable.

I honestly am sad I don't see Dr. Shah more. He is always so funny & always has me cracking up beforehand. It makes a not pleasant procedure, not so bad. He's just great!

I actually was not scene in the office. I had a scheduled Colonoscopy and EDG. Dr. Was not on time but I realize complications can happen with cases before me. During my wait all staff was courteous, kind, respectful and informative. The doctor apologized too. Other than the 2 hour wait it was an excellent visit. Nikki was exceptionally good. Did an excellent job inserting my IV. She wasn't even suppose to work there that day but when she finished her first job she saw how busy they were and stayed to help. I commend her for that. I was very appreciative of her care. Dr. Shah Is the best! I would recommend him to everyone needing this type of service. I even had to get clearance from my cardiologist from Jackson and he told me I was in good hands With Dr. Shah.

The entire team today, from intake to nurses, to anesthesiologists, to the GI Doctor were top notch. [NAME], [NAME], [NAME], Dr. Shah, and I apologize for forgetting the anesthesiologist's name, but she was great, too. Even the eagle-eyed person at the information desk noticed I was having trouble finding "colonoscopy" on the registration kiosk. She came over from across the room and kindly told me to select "surgery".

A colonoscopy IS NOT the high point of my year! However, the entire experience was relieved by the doctor and staff. I have/had polyps before. Dr. Shah spent what seemed an exceptionally long time explaining the need to stay on top of having them removed. My daughter was with me and he stressed they can be an inherited tendency and encouraged her to get checked. She came home, texted her GP for a referral, and has an appointment the end of this month for a colonoscopy! Dr. Shah, the staff and my daughter and I had light conversation, a few laughs and took care of business! By noon, I had been to McDonalds and was home!

Oaklawn ALWAYS treats me great.

Had endoscope and colonoscopy done and Dr Shaw was excellent and took time explaining his findings. I have great confidence in him. Have big history of cancer and I feel he's going to stay on top of it. He's got me almost worry free., and that's hard to do for me. I recommend him to anyone out there that needs a doctor that is going to take his time, and look for any suspicious to him. Thanks Doc.

Dr. Shah was pleasant and happy, knew my past procedure results and listened to my updates.

I had a sigmoidscopy. The procedure was done at Oaklawn. The care was excellent with the exception that they were 30 plus minutes behind schedule. All my needs were met and since I have had this procedure many times they rated with the best of them. Dr Shah did a good job answering my concerns and the nurse worked very hard to make sure I got good care.

I waited over 2hours past my appt. Time and then the prep for the colonoscopy procedure did not work well enough to complete the test, so I have to wait until a year and go through the whole thing again. I exactly followed the prep procedure.

Every employee I talked to or had interaction with was outstanding and excellent. The care was top rate. HOWEVER, The lack of privacy in the prep area was concerning an uncomfortable. There were three patients in there and virtually no privacy of medical history, discussions or really anything. Everyone could hear everything Including people attending their procedure with the their patient, as well as anybody walking by which included random security personnel among just plain strangers. The results of the procedure were discussed freely and openly, and this non-private environment as well. I want to emphasize every single employee I dealt with was outstanding, the issue is not the employees. The issue is the space. The situation is one I would not recommend to people who are concerned about their own medical privacy and any sort of modicum of modesty.

I was very pleased with the care I was provided by Dr Shah and all the staff at Oaklawn Hospital. They all went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for.
